Medical Missions in the Philippines
Groups of local health care givers, including doctors, nurses, dentists, pharmacists, and ancillary staff periodically organize medical missions to isolated, remote areas (barrios) where healthcare is scarce or nonexistent. These are routine exams attended by hundreds of patients, young and old. We distribute vitamins primarily, relying on donations to be able to purchase them locally. Acute and serious cases are referred and transported to nearby hospitals.
